# Before you buy ClickShare, compare the whole room.

ClickShare makes the button familiar. Your next room should do more than make the first connection easy. Compare how many people can share at once, how guests get in, and how remote colleagues see the work. That is where Polaris makes its case.

Start with the limit you will actually feel

## Your third presenter should not have to wait.

ClickShare C-10, CX-30 and CX-50 Gen2 each support two sources on screen at once. That can suit a presentation. A team comparing a plan, a budget and a live dashboard has already outgrown it.

Polaris keeps multiple live sources together in one workspace, with automatic sizing as people share. The practical ceiling is around 5 simultaneous workspace sources on Essentials and around 10 on Pro. That ceiling comes from hardware memory, with no enforced software source cap.

Source: [Barco's model-by-model source limits](https://www.barco.com/en/support/knowledge-base/16037-clickshare-maximum-simultaneous-connections-and-on-screen-sharing-limits). Connected users and sources visible on screen are separate counts. See [Polaris workspace capacity](https://www.mersive.com/platform/how).

The connection is just the beginning

## Less passing around. More working together.

### Give guests a web address

On a supported laptop browser, open app.mersive.com, enter the room key and share. Polaris needs no transmitter or client installation for that path. Phones and tablets use Mersive Connect or supported native casting.

ClickShare offers Button, app and supported casting options. A Button can also avoid an installation. The Polaris difference is a browser entry point into the shared workspace.

### Keep the comparison on screen

When the discussion moves between proposals, drawings and numbers, keep them visible together. People can refer to their own live content without repeatedly replacing someone else's share.

Choose the receiver for the work your team does after connecting. A larger connected-user count does not give C-10 or the named CX models more than two sources on screen.

### Give remote colleagues the workspace

Participants can open the Polaris workspace in their browsers to see its shared content and contribute their own, including from another network when required traffic is permitted.

That workspace connection works alongside your call. Include a remote participant in the demo and check the content they receive, as well as what appears on the room display.

Name the product

## C-10 is not CX-30. CX-30 is not Hub.

Barco sells presentation receivers, conferencing receivers and Teams Rooms systems. The differences matter when you choose what to put in the room.

**Named ClickShare products and the Polaris alternatives**

| Barco product | What it provides | What to compare with Polaris |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [ClickShare C-10](https://www.barco.com/en/product/clickshare-c-10) | Wireless presentation with two sources on one display. Room-camera and microphone access is the role of the conferencing range. | Essentials or Pro for browser sharing and a larger workspace. Choose Pro when you also need wireless access to room peripherals. |
| [ClickShare CX-30](https://www.barco.com/en/product/clickshare-cx-30) | Laptop-hosted conferencing with room peripherals, plus two on-screen content sources. | Polaris Pro's wireless BYOM and multi-source workspace. Test the camera, microphone, laptop and meeting application you intend to use. |
| [ClickShare CX-50 Gen2](https://www.barco.com/en/product/clickshare-cx-50-gen2) | Laptop-hosted conferencing and dual display output. Barco still specifies two simultaneous content sources. | Polaris Pro for a larger workspace. Compare the actual content layout on your displays, including what remote participants see. |
| [ClickShare Hub Core / Pro](https://www.barco.com/en/product/clickshare-hub-pro) | A separate Microsoft Teams Rooms system. Both list one shared content source; Pro supports dual displays. | Start with the room's purpose. If you want to keep Teams Rooms and add a shared workspace, [see where Polaris fits alongside it](https://www.mersive.com/compare/mtr). |

Buy the room you will operate

## The button is one part of the purchase.

### Compare the full quote

Count the receiver, included Buttons, any extra transmitters and the support terms. C-10 is offered with one or two Buttons; a Button is not automatically an extra purchase for every seat.

For Polaris, compare the device and purchase term for your room. Full warranty while on active subscription. See [purchase options](https://www.mersive.com/how-to-buy) for the full terms.

### Put management through the same test

Barco provides XMS Cloud for ClickShare management. Polaris Cloud provides configuration templates, device health monitoring and usage analytics for Polaris.

Ask both systems to perform the tasks your team repeats across the fleet: configure a room, update devices and investigate a problem. Judge the workflow and the quoted service terms.

Make the comparison count

## Ask for a working session, not just a connection demo.

Bring several laptops, a guest device and a remote colleague. Share the documents your team needs to compare. Then see how much of the work stays in view, how people join, and what IT has to manage.

ClickShare's physical Button may suit your users. C-10 and CX-30 also offer touchback, annotation and blackboarding on supported configurations. Polaris currently sizes shared sources automatically; manual rearrangement and workspace annotation remain planned capabilities.

Polaris planning targets: manual rearrangement in Q4 2026, workspace annotation in Q1 2027. These are planning targets, not committed release dates. See the [workspace roadmap](https://www.mersive.com/resources/firmware#workspace-roadmap) and the linked Barco product specifications.

**If your room needs more than two live sources in view, make Polaris part of the decision.**

Rip and Replace

## Credit toward Polaris Pro or Polaris Essentials.

Rip and Replace gives you credit toward Polaris Pro or Polaris Essentials when you replace your existing collaboration system. That includes systems from other vendors and Mersive Solstice.

Mersive sales determines the credit for each project. [Explore Rip and Replace →](https://www.mersive.com/products/transition#rip-and-replace)
