Mersive’s Solstice a Finalist for Collaboration Product of the Year

AV Interactive announced the shortlist of finalists for the 2013 AV Awards, with Mersive’s Solstice software in the running for Collaboration Product of the Year.

The winners will be announced during a gala dinner on Friday, October 11 in central London. The judging committee consists of 25 end users and consultants who will recognize the companies who made an exceptional contribution to the AV industry.

Mersive’s Solstice Wins Best New Product for Higher Ed Market

At the end of July, rAVe announced its Best of InfoComm 2013 awards. Solstice software was selected as the Best New Product for Higher Ed Market. The same week the award was announced, Mersive was at the Campus Technology show in Boston meeting with universities that are reviewing Solstice to facilitate collaboration in both classrooms and campus meeting rooms. This is a growing market for Mersive with many higher ed deals in the pipeline.

Solstice Now Supports Mac Laptop Clients

In mid-July Mersive released the Solstice client for OS X to support Mac laptops. This rounds out the list of supported devices, which already included Windows laptops, Windows 8 Tablets, iPads, iPhones as well as Android tablets and phones. The new client can be found on the Solstice product page or in the Mersive download center.

Mersive Expands Executive Team

Today Mersive announced the addition of two new members to its executive team – Rick Emery has joined as VP Sales & Business Development, and Thomas Ruge has joined as VP Product Development.

Rick has more than 20 years of experience across both startups and large Fortune 500 companies. Previously he led the sales organizations at several collaboration software startups including Jabber, Inc., which was acquired by Cisco in 2008. Rick received his MBA from the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management and his undergraduate degree from Princeton.

Thomas has 20 years of leadership and product management experience with a focus on computer graphics and cloud technologies. Prior to joining Mersive, he held roles in engineering management and product management at NVIDIA. He holds six US and European patents in process optimization and computer graphics. He has a master’s degree in physics from the Technical University in Munich, Germany and holds a dual-MBA degree from the Columbia Business School, New York and the Haas School of Business, Berkeley.

New Distribution Partners

Mersive continues to expand its channel of resellers and distributors across the globe. True Colours, a division of Midwich Group, will expand Mersive’s reach in the United Kingdom. JB&A, based in California, will extend Mersive’s reach across additional U.S. geographies.
