Preview in Moderation Mode
Unlike tools that only present the moderator with the name of the user requesting to share a post, Solstice’s moderation mode gives the moderator(s) a preview of what will be going up on the screen. A professor that has asked everyone in the room to take a picture of their in-class assignment to discuss with the group cannot very well reject a contribution based on the student’s name alone, but without preview mode, would learn that a post is inappropriate at the same time as the rest of the class. Give users peace of mind and minimize distractions with Solstice’s comprehensive moderation.
Restrict Guest Access
Dual network support is vital for large enterprises that have main and guest networks. Forcing employees to use a guest network for collaboration undermines the security of the entire infrastructure, and giving guests employee credentials is even worse. Solstice Pods have wired and wireless interface cards that maintain an airgap with separate routing tables and configuration options, providing a highly secure way to bridge Guest and Main network users into the same collaboration session. The Solstice Dashboard allows administrators to specify which network is considered the ‘guest’ network, and restrict configuration access accordingly.
The Solstice Dashboard lets one or more administrators manage and monitor every Solstice instance deployed across their network. If the company decides to introduce a guest network, transferring some or all of the Solstice devices to the new network can be done in a few clicks through the Dashboard, rather than manually by the local IT department. Software updates can be deployed all at once after IT has vetted them for security vulnerabilities, rather than stick to obsolete versions of software or risk problems caused by allowing automatic updates over the internet. The Dashboard also provides real-time information about bandwidth usage by display, how many users are connected to a display, and other data points that paint a clear picture of Solstice usage and network implications.
Broadcast Restriction Friendly
Many enterprise networks use routers that disallow broadcast mode and will not even pass on broadcast packets. If your collaboration system does not provide an alternative, it will be useless on such a network. Solstice products can be used in broadcast mode if the environment allows, but may also be listed in the Solstice Discovery Service (SDS) directory. SDS gives end users the same click-to-connect experience as if all devices were broadcasting by listing the device IP addresses in a directory installed on a Windows machine on the network.
Solstice has the most features available to make deployment and device management a breeze.
